On the morning of Dec. 7, 1941, America woke up to the shock of Japanese fighter planes attacking their naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii. More than 2,000 American soldiers and sailors died in the attack and over 1,000 were wounded. The bombings led to the U.S. entry into World War II.
